More about me
I have been working with people with disabilities of all ages for over a decade. I began my work as a direct support provider for adults with intellectual disabilities in residential and vocational capactities. I went to University of Iowa and received degrees in Elementary Education(K-5) and Special Education (K-8). After earning my degree, I worked as a middle school special education teacher back in my hometown of Dubuque, IA. After 4 years I decided it was time for a change and moved to Madison to become a special education teacher at Common Threads Family Resource Center in their school program. I ventured back into the world of public education the following year and worked in an elementary school as a special education teacher in Sun Prairie. I have a lifelong passion of advocating for vulnerable communities. I live in Madison with my partner as well as our dog and cat. I enjoy reading mystery thrillers and watching scary movies in my free time.
