I grew up with a sibling that has a disability which is what motivated me to work in this field. I worked as a Special Education Teacher for three years while I lived in Milwaukee and I worked with students with varying disabilities. When I moved to Madison I worked at a vocational agency for 10 years where I worked with people with varying disabilities as well as the elderly. After being in the vocational world for 10 years, in 2022 I transitioned into working as an IRIS Consultant. I have gained experience working with people with autism and other cognitive disabilities as well as frail elders, individuals with physical disabilities, and I have experience with mental health. I also have experience helping to find employment for people with disabilities as well as assist youth in transition to adult services.
