I have over 25 years of experience working with skills training, job developing and case managing for clients with developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges. My experience includes planning and coordinating community activities, teaching clients daily living skills to promote independence, modeling appropriate behaviors during activities, developing and carrying out person-centered plans, completing CIP waiver paperwork and working with clients and their teams to reach compromises on differences. I have worked with clients who experience a history of violent, psychotic, self-injurious behavior, autism, hearing impairments and visual impairments, physical impairments, traumatic brain injuries, memory impairments addictions and aging. I have been working with people who experience physical and developmental disabilities, mental illness as well as frail elders for more than 25 years. I graduated in 1995 from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Psychology. While attending university, I worked providing in home services for adults with disabilities. After graduation, I worked with adults with disabilities at their jobs
In 1998, I began work as a support broker in the self-directed services system in Dane County. In 2000, I was promoted to a support broker team leader with the ARC. As a team leader, I worked with a client case load and supervised a team of support brokers. He joined Progressive Community Services at its inception in April 2003, where he continued his work as a team leader. While with Progressive Community Services, Mr. Cartwright worked as a support broker in the IRIS system in Sauk County from 2012-2015. Mr. Cartwright said it is his “great joy to help clients and their team’s work together to realize their dreams” In his spare time he is a volunteer fire fighter with Stoughton Fire Department, enjoys (sometimes) Packer football, is married to an amazing wife and has a sassy terrier dog.
