I have over 29 years of experience working with, skills training, job developing, case managing and IRIS consulting for participants with developmental disabilities, traumatic injuries and behavioral challenges. I have worked as an IRIS Consultant since IRIS entered Dane County in 2018. I have worked with participants who experience a history of violent, psychotic, self-injurious behavior, autism, hearing impairments and visual impairments, physical impairments, traumatic brain injuries, memory impairments addictions and aging. Chad Cartwright has been working with people who experience physical and developmental disabilities, mental illness as well as frail elders for more than 29 years. He graduated in 1995 from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. While attending university Mr. Cartwright worked with adults who experience disabilities in their homes. After graduation, he worked with adults who experience disabilities at their jobs. In 1998, Mr. Cartwright began work as a support broker in the self-directed services system in Dane County. In 2000 he was promoted to a support broker team leader with the ARC. He joined Progressive Community Services at its inception in April 2003, where he continued his work as a team leader. While with Progressive Community Services, Mr. Cartwright worked as a support broker in the IRIS system in Sauk County from 2012-2015. In 2018, Mr. Cartwright made the transition with the rest of the PCS team to IRIS in Dane County. As an IRIS Consultant Mr. Cartwright serves 38 participants. Mr. Cartwright said it is his “great joy to help participants and their team’s work together to realize their dreams” In his spare time he is a volunteer firefighter with Stoughton Fire Department, enjoys (sometimes) Packer football, is married to an amazing wife and has a sassy puppy.
