I have worked with adults with developmental disabilities and traumatic brain injuries for the last 12 years. I began working direct care with two individuals with disabilities in college and loved working with the DD population. I moved to Madison in 2008 and have worked as a Residential Program Manager for adults with developmentally disabilities and traumatic brain injuries for the last 10 years. While in the residential setting, I worked with a variety of different diagnoses and behaviors. I have experience assisting individuals diagnosed with autism, intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, memory impairments, seizure disorders, diabetes, anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, etc. I have also worked closely with individuals in the legal system who have needed support, structure, and guidance to rehabilitate into the community. Overall, my objective as a person, and as a social worker, is to do everything I can to be the good in the world. I feel a positive attitude can cause a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events and outcomes and it can create extraordinary results.
